Mustang Murals
Here at EES our students sometimes work together to create school-wide murals that beautify our campus! We sometimes use drawing skills such as pattern and repetition to create them and then we use color theory to decorate them. Starting in kinder we share the color wheel with our students and learn about primary and secondary colors, and up into 5th grade we learn bout color value with shined and tinting. Working together to create our murals is a fun way to learn these basic skills and have fun creating together!
Mustang Mural - August 2018
For this mural, we celebrated our mascot and gave each child a white mascot made from the simple die cut machine. Then, students in each grade level had to use a black sharpie to add pattern and shapes to their mascot. Each grade level was given a particular color from the color wheel, with different shades and tints to color in the mustangs. We put them all together in a ROYGBIV rainbow and placed it in the teacher's lounge to celebrate the start of school!
